I'm trying a bit of different colouration on the trousers to represent variation in uniform and to give a more varied look to the troops. Using Vallejo Iraqi sand, highlighted with off white.
Also, trying to get some unshaven shadow on the faces of the figures.

I really love this figure pack, its from the original range and not the awful blue moon rubbish
they sell nowadays.
these are still available from Timecast.
the sculpts are fantastic. I think it's a shame the sculptors dont get proper credit and recognition.
Anyway, these are Tyrolean Rebels (with seven Andreas Hofer in the pack!).

Little drummer conversion

As I have a large number of battle honours figures still. I am using them as conversions, and repainting those that can be salvaged.

I've always liked the images of drummers on campaign with the drum carried on the back. So I thought I'd give it a bash.

Repainted troops... Hopefully the last re paints I ever do.

It's not till I photograph them that the shitty areas stand out.

Just needs dorma windows and chimneys at some later date!
Need to press on and concentrate on painting figs though (maybe sneak in a church or windmill??)

More Re-painting progress

A new facing colour for these guys, which I really like. As far as i can tell the hungarian regiments had less variation in facing colours, as a lot seem to have been variations on red.

I think ill just re paint completely after this batch is finished...

the small amount of grenzer i have arent worth salvaging any of the existing paintwork!
